Another Mother & Daughter Tea is being planned for May 4, 2008. Details will be in our next newsletter.
Garden Tour of Homes update: We are planning something a little different this year. We will be having a Garden Tour and Farmer's Market on Saturday, July 19th (rain date, July 20th). We have six local gardens and our own museum on the tour. These gardens are beautiful and this should be an exiting time. The farmer's market will be held at one of the locations. The proceeds from this event will go toward the scholarships that the Welsh Society sponsors each year. YOU can help make this a great day! We need help in advertising, posting flyers, selling tickets, workers for the day of the tour to take tickets, help to man the farmer's market and much more. We also need contributions for the farmer's market in the way of baked goods, hand made articles, produce from your garden, plants, etc. Do you build bird houses, make stepping stones or wind chimes, sew, crochet or paint articles? We would like to feature these "hidden" talents we know you have. Every member is going to be asked to contribute in some way. Expect a phone call! Thanks.
Scholarship application forms: The applications are now available by contacting Verona Sandy at 7225 Gomer Rd., Gomer, OH 45809, (419)642-3315. The students that apply should be of Welsh descent. Deadline for the applications is August 1, 2008.
