His room overlooked Lincoln Highway and the owner of the house commented that he always paid his bill ahead of time and was very quiet and respectful. (Story from a longtime Gomer resident)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Is Dillinger a Welsh name?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Have you tried to make Welsh Cakes yet?&lt;br /&gt;1 cup flour&lt;br /&gt;1 stick butter&lt;br /&gt;1.5 oz. dried fruit&lt;br /&gt;1 egg&lt;br /&gt;Sprinkle of sugar&lt;br /&gt;Blend butter into flour with pie blender utensil.  Add dried fruit, beaten egg and sugar.  Form a dough.  Roll our on floured surface.  Cut into rounds and bake in Teflon skillet until brown on both sides.  Sprinkle with a little more sugar.  Butter before serving. The students that apply should be of Welsh descent.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Next meeting&lt;/span&gt;:  July 9, 2008 in The Gomer United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall.  10:00 a.m.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;Use your vegetables in this&lt;a href="http://www.recipes.eu.com/recipe706183.html"&gt;Welsh Leek and Potato Soup Recipe&lt;/a&gt;-&lt;i&gt;Swp Cennin A Thatws&lt;/i&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2 large leeks     &lt;br /&gt;1 lb. potatoes     &lt;br /&gt;1 rasher of bacon (approx. 3 to 4 slices) &lt;br /&gt;1 pint milk&lt;br /&gt;1 oz. butter&lt;br /&gt;4 pint stock      &lt;br /&gt;2 tablespoons chopped parsley&lt;br /&gt;salt and pepper&lt;br /&gt;cheese&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Cut up the bacon and fry in the butter in a saucepan.  Peel and cut up the potatoes.  Clean and cut up the leeks.  Add the vegetables to the saucepan and fry for 5 minutes.  Stir in the stock and add salt and pepper to taste.  Put the lid on the pan and simmer for 30 minutes until the vegetables are tender.  Add the milk and reheat but do not boil to avoid the milk curdling.  Add the parsley.  Serve with grated cheese.
